Q: Do you offer any dairy free products?
A: Although our solid Dark Chocolate, Jelly Beans, and Gummies products don’t contain any dairy ingredients, they are processed on shared dairy equipment and are labeled as such. Also, most of the items that we make are milk chocolate and we frequently have dairy ingredients around and in the same production areas as dark chocolate. Therefore, we don’t consider our solid dark chocolate products to be 100% dairy free. If the dairy allergy in question is more than a mild one and you have concerns about possible dairy traces, we would not recommend the products listed above.
Q: Are there any eggs in your products?
A: We do make products that contain egg ingredients or are processed on shared egg equipment. Our Orange-Apricot Truffles, Orange Creams, and Raspberry Creams, as well as all of our flavors of fudge contains egg or egg products as an ingredient. All of our other boxed (filled) chocolates and chocolate barks are processed on shared egg equipment. All of our solid chocolate products, in both milk, dark, and crispy chocolate are made and processed in a separate kitchen and is free from egg. Our solid chocolate items include our chocolate bars, pops, coins, drops, baking chips, candy melts, shapes, pretzels and seasonal items. Our Skippers®, Jelly Beans, TANABAR® Granola Bars, and Trail Mix are also free of egg ingredients.

The creams and caramels will last for 3 to 4 months at room temperature. Any of our solid chocolate items will last for one year at room temperature. The chocolates should be stored in your pantry away from sunlight and direct heat sources. For ultimate taste and flavor, we recommend that you order regularly and consume your chocolate within a couple of weeks of receipt.
Q: How do you store truffles, caramels, and creams to extend shelf life?
A: The shelf life of truffles can be doubled by refrigeration and they can be frozen for up to six months. You will need to be careful about moisture if you put the chocolates in a refrigerator or freezer. You should wrap the package in aluminum foil before sealing it in 2 separate closed plastic bags. When you remove the foiled double bagged package from the refrigerator or freezer, be sure to let the whole package come to room temperature before unwrapping it.
Q: Do your products contain soy?
A: All of our products contain soya lecithin as an ingredient. Our TANABAR® Granola Bars and Trail Mix contain roasted soybeans as an ingredient. Our small chocolate bars (Milk, Dark, and Crispy) are wrapped on the same flow wrapper as our TANABAR® Granola Bars and are labeled as packaged on shared equipment with dairy, soy, and wheat/gluten.
Q: Are any of your products Kosher certified?
A: All of our products are Star-D Kosher Supervision certified, EXCEPT for our gummy candies. Star-D is a project of the National Council of Young Israel in affiliation with Star-K Kosher certification.
Q: Can your chocolate be melted down and used for molding?
A: Our Candy Melts, which are a compound made with vegetable oils, are specifically for use at home with your own molds and would be a great option for this purpose. Feel free to make different colors by mixing the White Candy Melts with any food coloring that you feel comfortable using.
Q: Do you make anything that contains coconut or sesame?
A: We do not use any coconut or sesame products in any of our processes.
Q: Do you ship your chocolates outside of the U.S.A.?
A: We do ship our products all over the world and have thousands of mail order customers outside of the U.S. However, shipping charges outside of the U.S. and Canada are calculated on a case by case basis depending on shipping weight, destination, country, and level of delivery service desired.
Q: How do we handle warm weather shipping?
A: Chocolate is perishable and begins to melt at temperatures over 70 degrees. The inside of the delivery truck is much warmer than the outside air temperature and we want your order to arrive in excellent condition so, we handle warm weather shipping as follows:
When temperatures are at or above 70 degrees between Vermont and the destination of the package, an insulated styrofoam shipping container and gel pack will be required at an additional charge of $7.25. We will automatically add this option to your order (if needed) if you forget to select it in your shopping cart. The container and gel pack option works extremely well for transit times under 3 business days. Destinations that take longer than 3 business days, and in some cases during extremely hot temperatures, expedited shipping at an additional cost may be required. Customer Service will contact you with recommended upgraded shipping options if necessary.
