Food Allergy Resources
Over the past 20 years of being in this industry, we have discovered some of the best educational resources for individuals with food allergies. We wanted to share our favorite websites, blogs, and apps with you.
Allergic Child
Started by the parents of a child with life-threatening allergies, Allergic Child is one of the original food allergy blogs. This blog provides first-hand experiences and advice for managing food allergies at any age.
Allergic Living
Allergic living covers everything related to food allergies, environmental allergies, and asthma. We find them to be a trustworthy source for food allergy related news, such as new research on treatments, changes in legislation, and product recalls.
American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology
New to the food allergy community? The ACAAI website has some very insightful information, and even an FAQ section, written by immunologists and allergists who work in the field.
EpiPals
EpiPals is an organization that is near and dear to our hearts. In partnership with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, EpiPals mission is to help support families of children with severe food allergies through education, awareness, and the distribution of Epipens to those in need.
F.A.R.E.
Food Allergy Research & Education is the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to food allergy awareness, education, research, and advocacy. Join their patient registry or one of their many support groups to be connected to other families and individuals with food allergies.
Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Connection Team (FAACT)
FAACT's website is the ultimate resource for education, advocacy, and connections with other parents and adults affected by food allergies and life-threatening anaphylaxis. They also host Camp TAG - a safe place for children with food allergies, eosinophilic disorders, FPIES, Celiac disease, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and asthma and their non-allergic siblings to have fun – with no worries about allergic reactions – and meet other children who share similar experiences.
Kids with Food Allergies
Kids With Food Allergies is a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). They are another great source of information on food allergies. We particularly enjoy their collection of Safe Eats® Allergy-Friendly Recipes, that you can sort by allergen!
Snack Safely
We are proud to be one of Snack Safely's partner manufacturers. Snack Safely is another great resource for the latest food allergy news, but we especially love their Snack Safe Guides. Each edition of the Safe Snack Guide is a catalog of commonly available foods (not just snacks!) free of specific allergens that are updated every 4-6 weeks throughout the year. These guides are very thorough and accurate, as they source their information directly from manufacturers, and can provide you with information you won’t find on the label or anywhere else.
Spokin
We are a Verified Brand on the Spokin app, which was designed to make managing food allergies and celiac disease a bit easier. From holiday product guides, like "Allergy-Friendly Advent Calendars" to restaurant guides that cover everything from burgers to soft-serve ice cream, Spokin makes living with a food allergy SO much tastier. Download the Spokin app to check out our brand page and to find many other allergy-friendly businesses.
